Economic uncertainty and rising employment costs have convinced many companies to utilize contractors to contain costs and gain workforce flexibility. To help recruiters respond to the growing demand for contractors, Top Echelon® Contracting (TEC) has appointed a Contract Staffing Specialist to serve as one point of contact for recruiters trying to add contract staffing to their business models.
As a contract staffing back-office since 1992, TEC becomes the legal employer for the contractors recruiters place. TEC handles all the legal, financial, and administrative details of the contract placement. They concentrate on technical, professional, and healthcare placements and do business in 49 states.
Lisa Kovac was named the company’s Contract Staffing Specialist on March 1, according to TEC President Debbie Fledderjohann. She is responsible for helping recruiters implement contract staffing and walking them through the steps of their first placement.
In her previous role as a Contract Staffing Administrator, Kovac also helped recruiters make contract placements, but she is now focused on assisting those who are completely new to the contract staffing concept.
“Our mission has always been to make it easy for recruiters to add contract staffing, but we are taking it a step further by having Lisa guide them through the entire process,” said Fledderjohann. “When recruiters make contract placements utilizing our back-office, the process isn’t much different from a direct hire placement, but there is a huge fear factor. We are providing Lisa as the go-to person for new recruiters to put them at ease. When they call, they will get the same person who can answer any questions they may have.”
Kovac, who joined TEC in 2006, worked a desk as a Contract Staffing Administrator and has helped hundreds of recruiters with contract placements. She has an extensive Human Resources background that includes experience in recruiting, training and development, and benefits administration. She holds both a B.S. and M.S. in Human Resource Management.
"I am excited to take on this new challenge and help recruiters become successful in contract staffing," Kovac said.
In addition to helping recruiters establish their contract staffing business, TEC will offer a variety of free tools, including:
