A new study carried out by Skipton Building Society has found the best rated money saving tips for 2013. The new study found the top 50 tips and advice provided by its customers as eight in ten people claim to be more conscious than ever before of overspending, and try to budget to make funds reach the end of the month.
A third of people now buy everything in bulk, filling cupboard with toilet rolls, washing powders and everyday essentials such as tea and coffee.
Furthermore out of the 2,000 people surveyed one fifth choose to dye or cut their own hair at home whilst others drove at a slower speed or flushed the toilet only when necessary. Others used initiative with one in six people occasionally selling items at car boot sales or on auction websites.
Top rate tips included turning lights off when you leave a room at number one, shopping around, reusing carrier bags and only boiling enough water.
