Over the past several years we have been exploring country club acquisition opportunities that would not only match the luxury and quality of our homes throughout the country, but also our current family of high-end private country clubs.
HORSHAM, Pa. (PRWEB) March 11, 2013
Toll Golf, the golf and country club operating division of Toll Brothers, Inc. (NYSE: TOL), announced today the purchase of Snowmass Club, a private country club in Snowmass Village, CO, previously owned by Aspen Skiing Company.
“We truly appreciate the warm welcome we have received by the Aspen Skiing Company, the club employees and local business leaders as we worked through the acquisition. The Snowmass Club is internationally recognized for its quality as well as its location in one of the world’s premier destinations,” according to David Richey, President of Toll Golf. He went on to say, “The Club today has over 1,000 Members from around the world and we look forward to meeting them and continuing to deliver the high-quality lifestyle that they have become accustomed to under the Aspen Skiing Company ownership.”
“During the past 23 years of ASC ownership, the staff at the Snowmass Club has done a phenomenal job creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for members and owners alike,” said Mike Kaplan, President & CEO of Aspen Skiing Company. “I congratulate the team on making the Snowmass Club a truly special place and with Toll Golf’s experience and commitment to quality, I am confident that they will take the member, owner, and employee experience to even higher levels.”
Located 8,000 feet above sea level amid landmark mountain peaks and a short drive from Aspen, Snowmass Club is surrounded by natural beauty and spectacular amenities. The centerpiece of the Club and gateway to the village is the award-winning Jim Engh golf course featuring dramatic bunkers, elevated tees and stunning views of Mount Daly and the Snowmass Mountain ski trails. The course plays to a length of 7,008 yards from the black tees and has a par of 72. Players of all abilities will enjoy the variety of holes, especially the par 5 18th hole, which features a drop of over 120 feet from the tee to the fairway.
Snowmass Club boasts a 64,000 square-foot member clubhouse featuring Sage Restaurant & Patio, a full-service restaurant and bar with expansive outdoor patio seating overlooking Mount Daly. The clubhouse also features an expansive fitness center with state-of-the-art cardio and weight-training equipment, spa, 4 outdoor pools, indoor-outdoor hot tubs and 11 outdoor and 2 indoor tennis courts. Golfers enjoy a separate clubhouse which includes a pro shop and Black Saddle Bar & Grille, the perfect spot for enjoying a casual lunch while taking in the impressive views of Snowmass’ spectacular scenery and 5,400 square feet of outdoor space.
During the winter months, the golf clubhouse transforms into the Snowmass Cross Country Center. Operated by Ute Mountaineer, an adventure-sports retailer in Aspen, the center provides on-snow instruction and access to over 70km of cross country terrain for skiers of all abilities.
For those who wish to call the Roaring Fork Valley their home away from home, Snowmass Club features The Residences at Snowmass, vacation homes consisting of 40 finely appointed 2 to 5 bedroom units with 290 owners. Although The Residences are privately owned, the Club will continue to provide the day-to-day management of The Residences for the owners, who are also Members of the Club.
As the newest addition to the Toll Golf family, Snowmass Club Members will enjoy the benefits of the Member Advantage program. This reciprocal arrangement allows Members to experience the elegance and convenience of the country club lifestyle at any of the other Toll Golf clubs participating in the program, to their same membership level, for no additional charge. “Over the past several years we have been exploring country club acquisition opportunities that would not only match the luxury and quality of our homes throughout the country, but also our current family of high-end private country clubs. Snowmass Club surely meets and exceeds this goal,” stated Richey.
