In a recent article by Tara Dodrill of Off The Grid News, the questions revolving around aspartame in milk are reviewed from a survivalist perspective. Over the past few weeks, Dodrill has been breaking down current news and putting it in a perspective that resonates with the survivalist/prepper community.

Off The Grid News has noticed that raw milk has been a hot topic which resonates with the survivalist community. “There are levels of raw milk that interest us [survivalists]. When discussing raw milk you are looking at the bureaucracy of the process of selling or distributing raw milk. For instance, it is illegal to advertise that you sell raw milk in Illinois. You can sell it, you just can’t advertise that you sell it,” says Bill Heid, founder of Off The Grid News.

In her recent article, Dodrill focuses on government regulations for adding and labeling artificial sweeteners in milk. In the article, Dodrill calls attention to the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) recent note that a 2009 petition from the National Milk Producers Federation and the International Dairy Foods Association wants the artificial sweeteners label dropped.

The FDA is turning to the public to submit comments and information related to not only aspartame, but other artificial sweeteners in milk before a decision is made. “There is absolutely no logical reason to introduce an artificial sweetener into milk. It baffles the mind that the FDA would consider allowing an unlabeled ingredient some researchers believe can alter brain chemistry into milk and at the same time close down the Morningland Dairy for producing perfectly safe raw cheese,” says Dodrill.

Dodrill also reports on what some state government officials are doing to try to allow the sale of raw milk in their state. She gives a brief overview of Republican State Representative Jason Schultz of Iowa and what he has done for this cause.

This gripping article weighs the benefits of raw milk against the possible additions of artificial sweeteners into milk. Dodrill urges that the combination of health benefits and the lack of chemicals in raw milk make raw milk a much healthier option.
