LA JOLLA, Calif. (PRWEB) March 11, 2013
The California Healthcare Institute (CHI) announced today the appointment of Eve Bukowski as vice president of state government affairs based in CHI’s Sacramento Office. CHI is a non-profit public policy research and advocacy organization for California’s biomedical R&D industry.
As CHI’s vice president of state government affairs, Bukowski is responsible for managing CHI's Sacramento office, where she directs the organization's state government relations advocacy and outreach activities across a range of issues, including implementation of the Affordable Care Act, tax issues, education and workforce development and environmental regulation.
“As our economy continues to recover, it is crucial that California’s biomedical community has strong representation in Sacramento,” said CHI President and CEO David L. Gollaher, Ph.D. “Eve brings a wealth of experience in government affairs and legislative advocacy, enabling CHI to build and maintain strong ties with legislators and the governor, while fostering exceptional member relations. I am delighted to welcome her to CHI.”
Bukowski most recently served as executive director for TechNet, a trade association representing biotechnology, clean technology, high-tech, venture capital firms and social media companies. During her tenure, she was responsible for developing and implementing TechNet’s legislative agenda and strategy. In this capacity, Eve developed strong relationships with leading policymakers, advocating and advancing key issues of importance to the industry before the state Legislature, administration and agencies on behalf of TechNet. Prior to her work there, Bukowski served as the government affairs manager at the Port of Oakland, where she directed all Port interaction with federal, state and local government officials. Bukowski is a member of the California State Bar, and holds a law degree from the UC Davis School of Law and bachelor’s degree in government from Pomona College.
