TFT Announces Powerful New EAS/CAP Encoding & Decoding Solution for FCC Compliance

TFT, Inc., today announced the release of its advanced solution for encoding, decoding and dissemination of EAS/CAP alert messages by Radio and Television Broadcasters and Cable Operators. The FCC granted Type-Certification to the TFT EAS911+ EAS/CAP system. FEMA has tested and declared the EAS911+ compliant.

The new EAS911+ is an EAS Encoder/Decoder with CAP receiving capabilities. The new model has all the features of TFT's widely-deployed EAS911 product but with a highly intuitive touch-screen user interface for setup, operation and required logging. It also incorporates a CAP decoder, analog and AES/EBU audio switcher, and interface to an auxiliary video overlay device to insert EAS information into four or more video streams.

The EAS911+ also has completed FEMA compliance testing for CAP decoding. In addition, the EAS911+ will feature greater logging and recording capabilities, text-to-speech conversion and convenient interface to existing TFT EAS peripherals such as the EAS930A Multi-Module Receiver and the EAS941A Remote/Status Module.
