An online survey of over 600 businesses, conducted by All About Savings, the Uks leading business energy comparison site, has found that over 65% of companies switch Electricity Supplier purely to save money and will put the price they pay over the customer service they receive.

Jo Brookes, Marketing Director at All About Savings says “With the sustained cold financial climate that British businesses are currently facing it is no surprise that decision makers are choosing a cheaper business electricity supplier rather than pay a premium for a supplier that is known to offer better customer service. Every company in the UK is feeling the pinch and getting the cheapest possible deal for their electricity supply is more important than reliability from their supplier, this is proved by the fact over 65% of companies that we have surveyed have said they have switched Electricity Supplier purely to save money”.

Jo continues “The survey has also shown us that 69% of businesses, that took part in our research, switched their Business Electricity Supplier during the last 6 months of 2012 compared to 31% of businesses in the first half of the year. We found that the main contributing factor to this was most companies that we surveyed were able to switch supplier later in the year due to their contract renewal dates.”

“The most alarming finding that AAS has to report is that 13% of businesses, which is over half a million SMEs, have said that a price rise of as little as 10% a year would force them to close. This is extremely worrying because since January 2010 the average business electricity bill has risen from £1,130.12 to £1,935.89 which is a 71.3%.”

The easiest way for any business to find the cheapest electricity rates for their business is to use an online electricity price comparison site, like All About Savings – which is simple, takes under 5 minutes and completely free to use.
