Early summertime is one of the best times to be out here... The grass is green, the wildflowers are out and there is still snow on the high country.

Rainbow Trout Ranch, a dude ranch in southern Colorado, recently announced an early season discount of ten percent as well as a non-rider's rate of an additional fifteen percent.
The ten percent discount is offered from May 26th to June 9th and includes all activities and programs. Owners Doug and Linda Van Berkum say that many families are leaning towards July and August for vacations due to later school releases, summer camps and summer athletic programs. They decided to offer an early season discount to encourage guests with flexible dates to come to the ranch during the first two weeks of the season.
They also added a non-rider's rate of an additional fifteen percent off for those who cannot or prefer not to ride but want to enjoy all that the ranch has to offer. The non-rider's rate is valid for the entire summer and also September.
At first look, dude ranch rates seem high but they are generally for a week's stay and are all-inclusive. Activities include riding, fishing, trapshooting, archery, whitewater rafting, evening activities, teen and children's programs and more. A ten percent discount is a significant savings; for example, a family of four can save up to $900 and a family of five can save over $1000.
And Doug Van Berkum says that early June is a great time to be at the ranch and in the Rocky Mountains. "Early summertime is one of the best times to be out here," he says, "the grass is green, the wildflowers are out and there is still snow on the high country."
