According to the French Tribune, a recent report by the Australian’s Federal Department of Resources, Energy and Tourism has found that a large number of Australians are moving abroad to have surgeries.
The number of people moving to other countries for surgeries has increased with many Australians travelling to Malaysia and Thailand for surgery. Other countries considered were India and Germany.
The report showed that those most likely to travel abroad for cosmetic surgery such as breast augmentation is women aged 20 to 25 years old, and women aged 25 to 40 for tummy tucks and breast lifts. Women aged over 45 went abroad for face lifts.
The respondents to the survey including those who had had the surgery and those awaiting it, said they were moving abroad on a temporary basis.
