Studio City now has a gopher solution
Studio City, CA (PRWEB) March 12, 2013
Studio City residence knows what the biggest and most difficult pest in the city is to get rid of - GOPHERS! These burrowing animals wreak havoc in the yard eating all the vegetation and producing unsightly mounds.
Rodent Guys is now offering residential gopher removal services. Rodent Guys is the most respected gopher control service company in So Calif. They specialize in gophers, moles and ground squirrels. Because it is all they do, their technicians are well versed in a variety of treatment methods.
Nick Nielsen, owner of Rodent Guys, says he does not rely on poison bait as his main control method. According to Mr. Nielsen poison bait only has 50-70% effectiveness and in many homes will not eliminate all the gophers. Mr. Nielsen also points out the danger of using poison around pets, especially ones left unattended in the backyard.
Rodent Guys offers gopher service in two basic options. One is traditional poison methods which is slightly cheaper than non-poison. Unlike the other companies who rely only on the bait, Rodent Guys first injects carbon monoxide gas into the tunnels. This floods the tunnels making them unlivable and the gophers succumb to carbon monoxide build up in their system.
Once the treatment is finished the poison bait is placed into the tunnels as a secondary, or backup to the carbon monoxide. Mr. Nielsen does not recommend this treatment around unattended dogs, especially diggers. The type of treatment is up to the homeowner as to what they want used in their yards.
The other type of treatment is pet friendly. The pet safe method is a combination of carbon monoxide and trapping. This process takes a minimum of two visits. The first visit is setting traps into the gopher tunnels. All traps are placed down below the ground. After several days a return visit consists of removing the trapped gophers and then injecting carbon monoxide gas in the tunnels to make sure they are all gone.
One of the biggest differences with Rodent Guys is they use two methods for every treatment type regardless if poison or the dog safe method is used. This is probably why Rodent Guys is the number one gopher company in Southern California.
