We focus on establishing long-term commitments with our clients and each other as colleagues, and we’re very dedicated to cultivating deep knowledge within our practice areas.

Full-service Lancaster, Pa.-based law firm Hartman Underhill & Brubaker, LLC (HUB) is pleased to announce the celebration of 35 years in business during 2013. A law firm that has earned prominence within its industry and region, HUB was established in 1978 by the merger of two firms (Brubaker Brubaker & Garman and Hartman & Underhill), Hartman Underhill & Brubaker can trace its history back even further -- to the law offices of F. Lyman Windolph, who began practicing law in Lancaster in 1910.

“We focus on establishing long-term commitments with our clients and each other as colleagues, and we’re very dedicated to cultivating deep knowledge within our practice areas,” said managing partner Mark Stanley. “We believe that these values, along with an emphasis on community stewardship and industry leadership, have been key drivers of our success over the decades.”

“Giving back to the community we love, and to the industries we serve, is a top priority at HUB,” Stanley continued.

All 19 attorneys at the firm volunteer among community organizations, and all partners have served on and contributed time and resources to community- and industry-based boards and organizations. Most of the partners maintain active roles on industry or non-profit boards or community organizations.

While these core values have remained consistent across the decades, HUB’s areas of practice and depth of experience have expanded continuously.

The firm offers comprehensive services throughout Central Pennsylvania in the areas of business, land use, school and municipal, and litigation. The core group of partners has practiced law together for more than 30 years. Newer members of the team balance out the continuity with their fresh ideas and new models for practicing law.

“It’s the perfect combination,” said Stanley, “and it’s rather unique among law firms in the region.”

The firm has office locations in downtown Lancaster and Ephrata, Pa. The first office of the merged 1978 firm was located on East King Street in Lancaster. In 1985, the firm moved to its current location at 221 East Chestnut Street in Lancaster City, directly across the street from Musser Park. The firm’s iconic Lancaster building once served as an umbrella factory and later a tobacco warehouse. Its Ephrata office was opened in 2011 at the historic former Mountain Springs Hotel site, which also served originally as a residence and later as Ephrata’s first hospital.
