Representing the first automaker parts supply network in Mexico to join the industry's leading original equipment (OE) parts marketplace, GM de Mexico is transforming its replacement parts supply chain to improve dealers' sourcing and marketing of Genuine GM parts.

With network-wide parts visibility and streamlined processes in place, GM de Mexico dealers will be in a better position to serve their customers’ parts needs with greater speed and accuracy.

OEConnection LLC, the parts e-commerce technology leader for original equipment manufacturers (OEM) distribution networks, announced today that General Motors (GM) de Mexico has selected OEConnection parts sourcing and referral solutions for its network of dealerships. Joining GM U.S., GM Canada and 24 other OEMs in the industry’s largest OE parts marketplace, GM de Mexico represents the first automotive dealer network in Mexico to use OEConnection web-based solutions. In 2010, OEConnection was selected by Navistar, Inc. to provide online parts marketing and sourcing solutions to International® truck dealerships throughout Mexico.

Upon implementation of OEConnection technologies, GM de Mexico dealerships will have access to tools that will enable them to easily locate, buy, sell and market parts within their dealer network. What’s more, an automated backorder referral tool will be available to help dealers extend their sales reach for in-demand parts or reduce their backorder fill rates to within 24 hours.

“We are pleased that GM de Mexico has chosen OEConnection to transform their parts supply chain into a collaborative supply network,” said OEConnection President & CEO Chuck Rotuno, “and we welcome the opportunity to help dealers throughout Mexico improve efficiencies and grow their parts businesses. This agreement extends our international footprint and, more importantly, solidifies our relationship with General Motors, with whom we are committed to improving Genuine GM replacement parts sales and brand awareness. ”

Bill Henrie, Controller CCA at GM de Mexico said, “In the U.S. and Canada, GM dealers have experienced significant efficiencies and parts revenue growth as a result of OEConnection’s parts e-commerce solutions. With network-wide parts visibility and streamlined processes for dealer-to-dealer parts locating and referral in place, GM de Mexico dealers will be in a better position to serve their customers’ parts needs with greater speed and accuracy.”

GM dealers in Mexico will utilize the OEConnection multi-language international platform and have access to Spanish-speaking support representatives. The solutions are expected to rollout nationwide by mid-year of 2013.
