Making new friends is easier and more rewarding than ever with the newest version of Jingu Friends, the social discovery app that instantly connects likeminded people from around the world.

Jingu Friends allows users to drop into open, global conversations in a common Lounge area, then easily connect one-on-one with like-minded users through smartphone messaging apps like WhatsApp and Kik.

Version 1.5 features a smart new “Mojo Meter” that allows you to instantly determine whether a new acquaintance is someone you'd really like -- or someone who's not quite your type. Intuitive filters and defaults built into the app allow users to cast their social net as broadly or narrowly as they wish, ensuring the social connections they make are relevant, valuable and fun.

"Some Jingu users want to meet everybody, while others only want to meet people of the same age group, demographic, sex or language," said Jingu co-founder Theban Ganesh. "We're always asking our users how we can make the Jingu experience even better, and these new updates reflect that."

The new Mojo Meter provides a snapshot of a user's growing reputation among the Jingu community, allowing instant insight into potential new friends. Users can now easily customize their social circles -- filtering by age group, location or language, for example -- and block any unwelcome interactions.

The new version also broadens the friend-finding possibilities to a truly global scale, fostering connections with users of WeChat (Chinese app with 300 million users), Line (100 million users worldwide), QQ (Chinese app with 800 million users), Tuenti (the “Spanish Facebook”) and KakaoTalk (No. 1 chat app in South Korea).

“Your interactions in Jingu are now as open or exclusive as you make them,” said Ganesh.
