Aedan Pharmaceuticals, L.L.C. announced the launch of a crowdfunding campaign seeking to fund a large scale marketing campaign. The campaign is designed to further validate consumer acceptance of Aedan’s rapid dissolve powder (RDP) technology. More than 40% of adults have difficulty swallowing tablets and capsules. This problem affects people of all ages and those with the problem tell of cutting tablets in half, crushing tablets, opening capsules, and pouring the contents into or onto apple sauce, yogurt or the like. This difficulty swallowing tablets and capsules involves supplements, OTC drugs as well as prescription medications. Accurate and effective dosing of infants and toddlers is also challenging and requires effective solutions. RDP technology is targeted at solving these challenges. In fact, RDP technology is so effective that it could even be applied to companion animals.
Aedan believes that the RDP technology can be used on any compound that is or could be in powdered form. The company has applied the technology to more than 30 supplement and OTC drugs; Aedan’s lead product, XRP Energy performed well in a limited test marketing program. Aedan believes that the RDP technology is the only non-tablet, non-capsule delivery system capable of producing such a broad product offering.
The crowdfunding campaign is posted on the Indiegogo site http://www.indiegogo.com and offers premiums to those contributing to the project including varying quantities of free products, the ability to be involved in new product design and testing, distribution opportunities as well as opportunities to be featured in upcoming marketing campaigns or to be featured on the next iteration of the products packaging.
