Norwegian kicker Havard Rugland had an excellent tryout with the Detroit Lions, and is now participating in the Husted Kicking Pro Camp being held in Boca Raton, FL, from March 9-14, according to Sports Agent Jill McBride Baxter.
“Havard worked out for Detroit Lions and had a great workout,” says McBride Baxter, who represents Rugland. “This week he will participate in Husted Kicking Pro Camp."

Rugland, whose YouTube kicking video has been viewed almost three million times in the last five months, agrees with McBride Baxter that his workout with the Lions went well.
“I had a tryout with the Detroit Lions this week and I’m happy with how it went,” says Rugland. “I think I was able to show them some of my potential.”
McBride Baxter, who represents NFL players such as Jets punter Robert Malone and Dolphins wide receiver Marlon Moore, says she is happy to have Rugland as a client and thinks he has great potential to be an NFL kicker. She says his recent workout with the Lions confirms this.
“I signed Havard because I believe he has an unbelievable leg and great ball control,” says McBride Baxter. “Plus, I really liked him when I met with him. He is a very calm and mature guy.”
Michael Husted, who kicked in the NFL for 9 years and is currently training Rugland, agrees with McBride Baxter that Rugland definitely has NFL potential.
“Havard has incredible talent as a kicker,” says Husted. “He has a canon for a leg. As he continues to refine his technique, he could be one of the strongest kickers in the NFL.”
Husted says Rugland reminds him of some of the best kickers in the game.
“He reminds me a lot of Janokowski in terms of stature and strength,” says Husted. “Since he is a little older, Havard is very mature, which I believe will help him manage all of the pressure that comes with being a NFL kicker.”
Both McBride Baxter and Husted believe that what was once only a dream for Rugland, might now become a reality. Rugland agrees.
“If you had asked me a couple of months ago, playing in the NFL was just a vague dream,” says Rugland. “But after the recent development and progress, my goal is to play in the NFL.”
Rugland’s workout with the Lions comes shortly after a workout with the Jets. He says he is looking forward to working out in front of NFL coaches at the Husted Kicking Pro Camp.
“Next up for me will be the Husted Kicking Pro Camp in Florida,” says Rugland. “A number of NFL club representatives will be present, so this is a great opportunity for me to showcase my skills.”
