The Woodstock Fruit Festival is proud to extend an invitation to Ken Love to attend the Festival this August. Love was recently featured in The Fruit Hunters, a documentary about fruit enthusiasts who travel the world and seek out rare and unknown fruits. Michael Arnstein, founder of the event, shares, "The Woodstock Fruit Festival would be honored if Mr. Love would share his love of fruit with our event." Arnstein believes that Love’s message in this film supports The Woodstock Fruit Festival’s goal of incorporating more fruit into a person’s daily diet.
Love, a tropical fruit horticulturist and co-owner of Love Family Farms in Kona Hawai’i, manages a website called hawaiifruit.net that helps educate the public about how to properly grow, select and eat various types of fruit native to Hawai’i. "Mr. Love was one of the first people to introduce me to the incredible diversity of fruits through his pioneering website hawaiifruit.net," says Arnstein. Love also researches and works on projects that help support farmers to become more sustainable through agritourism and product development. His focus on promoting local fruit falls in line with the Festival’s aim to source locally and promote co-ops and other resources in the area.
The Woodstock Fruit Festival strives to address the many health advantages of eating fruit-based as well as environmental benefits.
