Respite care adds a whole new option to how seniors take care of themselves.
Atlanta, Georiga (PRWEB) March 12, 2013
Seniors who live on their own have a new opportunity for rest and care. Trinity Lifestyles Management, the company behind Georgia's Dogwood Forest brand of senior communities, is making short- or long-term respite care available to all seniors.
The respite care program is aimed at caregivers who need someone to take over care giving duties for a short period. Care giving can be a difficult job and demands time and many often feel run down or overworked from taking care of a spouse or other senior family member. Other care givers may need someone to care for a love one while on vacation or finishing a few projects around the house. During a respite stay, seniors are given all the same amenities and care as permanent residents, including meals, medication management and social activities.
Dogwood Forest communities are assisted living residences featuring beautifully appointed suites, 24 hour on-call care, and a strong schedule of life enrichment activities. All Dogwood Forest residences are designed to provide an environment that promotes positive health outcomes for residents.
“Respite care adds a whole new option to how seniors take care of themselves,” said Kia Crawford, a spokesperson for Trinity. “Often, they feel like they have to choose between living independently versus having proper care. But with a respite visit they can have the best of both worlds.”
Crawford says that many of the respite guests are there for post-operative recovery, something the Dogwood Forest staff specialize in.
“Our goal is to promote a full recovery,” she said. “We don't want you to go back to the hospital, we want you to go home.”
Trinity offers respite care at seven of its communities across Georgia, six of which are Dogwood Forest residences. Stays are available on a daily or weekly basis.
