This season, it’s all about renewing the spirit of Wild Adventures.
Valdosta, GA (PRWEB) March 13, 2013
There’s something new at Wild Adventures this year and it’s more than what you would expect. Hundreds of employees are busily preparing for the season opening Saturday, March 16 readying two new rides, more live shows and concerts and more than a dozen new animal experiences. They are putting their heart and soul into more than 30 new additions, including a $1 million thrill ride, new exotic animals and countless moments of fun. They’re working hard to make Wild Adventures the community’s family destination for memorable adventures in 2013.
“This season, it’s all about renewing the spirit of Wild Adventures,” says Wild Adventures General Manager Molly Deese. “We are the place where families in the community go for lasting memories and they have told us they want to create more of them. We’re giving families more to experience with new thrill rides, more concerts, live shows and animals but it’s the spirit of our team members that makes Wild Adventures much more than a theme park.”
This season, Wild Adventures expands its ride collection with two new rides as part of an investment of $1.3 million. For thrill seekers, the park introduces TailSpin, a rocking and spinning ride on a half-pipe which takes riders more than four stories high while facing outward on a motorcycle-like seat. For littler ride enthusiasts, the park adds Wacky Wheels, a whirling teacup-like ride of funky cars. “The boardwalk location of TailSpin and Wacky Wheels creates a new lakeside hub for families to have fun and reconnect,” says Deese.
More Animals and Guest Interactions
Wild Adventures energizes its animal appeal this season with more than a dozen new animal species, 14 new animal exhibits and more animal interactions. The popular Alapaha Trail features revitalized exhibits with animals native to South Georgia and North Florida such as wild hogs, horned owls and turkey vultures and exotic ones like red ruffed lemurs, squirrel monkeys and a caracal. The animal additions continue into the park’s aviary with budgies, doves and finches joining the collection of ground birds.
It’s not just about seeing exotic animals but rather the fun and adventure of interacting with them up close. Guests can watch the park’s zookeepers prepare meals in the new animal kitchen and learn about animals’ eating habits and dietary needs. Additional performance areas like the new stage near TailSpin create opportunities for guests to interact with Wild Adventures’ animal collection as they venture around the park together.
Back by Popular Demand - More Shows
Wild Adventures adds new shows and brings back guest favorites in 2013 with a total of eight shows scheduled for special limited engagements throughout the season. From a remake of a beloved western comedy show to Frisbee catching dogs, Wild Adventures’ shows give families something new to experience with every visit. Along with the new shows, the beloved Tigers of India and Creature Feature Extreme return for the season with refreshed performances.
“The shows are an important element to the park experience and give families something new to see with each visit,” said Molly Deese. “Not only are we bringing back a wild west show, which our guests told us they wanted, but also master illusionist Aaron Radatz.”
