Federal Way Public Schools (FWPS) in Federal Way, WA selects Educational Resources®’ LearnPad Tablet Solution to roll out to three schools within its district.

The ER LearnPad™ is the BETT Best Digital Device of 2013 and the only Purpose Built for Education Tablet solution available within K-12 today. The LearnPad solution includes three components that allow any teacher or school to safely deliver unlimited, digital curriculum & instruction anywhere: the LearnPad tablet, the LearnPad cloud-based management portal, and the LearnPad content store. The LearnPad solution is only $299 per tablet and carries no subscription fees.

Federal Way School District’s Superintendent, Robert R. Neu, Ed.S., contacted Educational Resources® to learn more about the opportunity to consider this technology for a district program. ER’s exclusive Washington reseller, Advanced Classroom Technologies (ACT) scheduled the next steps with the district including an onsite demonstration.

ACT worked with Ronald Mayberry, the Executive Director of Instructional Technology at Federal Way School District to set up demonstrations for the technology department, several principals and teachers from the district. Ronald Mayberry sees the LearnPad Management Portal as what really makes the LearnPad solution unique.

Dawn Brown, Instructional Technology Specialist at FWPS says:

“The LearnPad is a powerful device for teachers and students not only because it allows for easy access to electronic learning applications and resources, it is also easily customizable by the teacher. The teacher has complete control over the device, allowing them to modify their instruction for individual student learning needs without waiting for third parties.”

Federal Way Public Schools will roll out 452 LearnPads to students in the Spring of 2013. Mirror Lake Elementary School, Olympic View Elementary School and Saghalie Middle School will utilize the LearnPad Purpose Built for Education Tablet Solution.

Federal Way Public Schools is the 8th largest school district with an enrollment of 21,554 and 2,584 staff members spread across 37 schools. The district serves all of Federal Way and parts of three other cities - Auburn, Kent and Des Moines - and unincorporated King County.

The LearnPad is available across the US, Canada, Latin and South America and the Caribbean exclusively by Educational Resources® and ER’s value added selling partners. Advanced Classroom Technologies is the exclusive LearnPad reseller in the state of Washington.

“ACT has been looking for a tablet solution for the classroom for some time. We have seen many products that were either consumer driven, too complicated, too expensive or came with yearly subscriptions,” says Mike Lee, GM of ACT. “The LearnPad solution is built for education, it is easy to use, low cost, and does not come with yearly subscriptions. We are very excited to offer the LearnPad and truly do believe this is a great tablet solution for our education customers.”

The ER LearnPad is available now for $299. http://www.edresources.com
