IMCA goes local, bringing cutting-edge research and thinking directly to advisors.

Eaton Vance is delighted to partner with IMCA in creating an advanced training environment that enables current and prospective members to be highly educated and informed on topics of great interest and benefit to them and their clients.

Investment Management Consultants Association® (IMCA®), the premier association of investment consulting and wealth management professionals, today announced that its annual Best of IMCA series will bring top-tier education and investing insights to professionals in six cities across North America in 2013.

The series, sponsored exclusively by Eaton Vance, kicks off March 19 in Toronto, and includes seminars in Atlanta, California, Dallas, Indianapolis and Boston. Each day-long event is created in collaboration with top-25 business school faculty and leading investment and wealth advisory practitioners, and is open to both IMCA members and other financial professionals.

“Top advisors face a dilemma: how to stay current on the latest industry trends and topics without sacrificing time with clients,” said Ian MacKenzie, IMCA’s deputy executive director of operations. “The Best of IMCA series provides a powerful solution by bringing cutting edge research and thinking directly to advisors through high-level, one-day seminars.”

Headlining the Toronto event are Pietro Veronesi, PhD, Roman Family Professor of Finance at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business, and Kathleen Burns Kingsbury, a prominent wealth psychology expert.

  •     Veronesi will take a closer look at evidence about the predictability of aggregate stock market and Treasury bond returns, the dynamics of stock and bond volatility, and their ever-changing co-movement.
  •     Kingsbury, author of How to Give Financial Advice to Women: Attracting and Retaining High-Net-Worth Female Clients (McGraw-Hill, 2013), will give a two-part presentation titled “Solving the Intergenerational Wealth Puzzle: Working with Family Dynamics and Wealth,” and “Essential Skills for Advising Couples Regarding Intergenerational Wealth Transfers.”

"Eaton Vance is delighted to partner with IMCA in creating an advanced training environment that enables current and prospective members to be highly educated and informed on topics of great interest and benefit to them and their clients, “ said John Moninger, CIMA®, CPWA®, AIF®, Director of Retail Sales at Eaton Vance, and IMCA board member. “ We are proud to share the value of continuous improvement with IMCA and the professionals who attend these meetings."

In addition to the Best of IMCA Series, IMCA offers members and other investment professionals opportunities to continuously sharpen professional skills. The IMCA Annual Conference, April 28-May 1 in Seattle, will be the largest association gathering of investment advisors and private wealth management professionals in the United States.
