We’ve been promoting the benefits of buying new-build homes and the advantages of affordable new homes schemes such as Shared Ownership for many years and we’re delighted to lend our support to Shared Ownership Week.

The portal is also publishing its own free, Shared Ownership interactive digital brochure which can be downloaded by homebuyers who want to find out more about the government-backed scheme.

Whathouse.co.uk and the What House? brand have been synonymous with the UK’s new homes industry for many years,” says Keith Osborne, editor of whathouse.co.uk. “We’ve been promoting the benefits of buying new-build homes and the advantages of affordable new homes schemes such as Shared Ownership during that time and we’re delighted to lend our support to Shared Ownership Week.

“We hope our interviews with housing associations and affordable homes providers, case studies of real buyers around the country and our free interactive digital guide will spread the word still further about the opportunities available to people who may have thought that homeownership was just a pipe dream.”

The What House? Guide to Shared Ownership outlines the principles behind the scheme and is available free-of-charge to view online or to download. It combines text information with a series of videos explaining what the scheme is and what house-hunters need to do to find out if they qualify for the scheme.

Adam Morton at the National Housing Federation says: “We’re really pleased that What House? is backing Shared Ownership Week to raise the profile and awareness of Shared Ownership amongst the public and policy makers. It is an opportunity for housing associations across the country to show how they offer working families an affordable way to own a home, in an area they may not otherwise be able to afford.

“This week is a great way to improve understanding of Shared Ownership and promote the growing need for it in today’s housing market. It is also a perfect way of showcasing the positive impact Shared Ownership can have on people’s lives.”

Look out for extra coverage on Shared Ownership on whathouse.co.uk from Monday 18th March to Sunday 24th March and remember to download the digital What House? Guide to Shared Ownership to find out more about this affordable housing scheme.
