The Phoenix International Raceway knows a good fit when it sees one. It has one such fit, literally, with the NASCAR Subway Fresh Fit 500®, a race weekend that dazzled fans March 1-3 this year. Its other good fit is with Classic Party Rentals, which has been supporting the raceway for years.
“Our spring 2013 SUBWAY Fresh Fit 500® NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event weekend was a huge success,” says Jennifer Jepson, Manager of Communications for Phoenix International Raceway. “It could not have been possible without our side-by-side partnership with Classic.”
A side-by-side relationship is certainly necessary when preparations get underway a full month before race day. Beginning in early February, Classic started a large-scale installation that ultimately involved more than 1,800 chairs, more than 4,800 square feet of black Astroturf, 460 tables and over 30,000 square feet of tenting and structures on site.
“Our favorite piece of the event is the custom Trackside Club,” says J.J. Bowers, General Manager of Classic Party Rentals Phoenix. “It has 5-meter tall glass walls on the front side, and a modern curved roof design.” The structure, which varies in size for each race, is erected atop a 16-foot scaffold deck. It is then filled with amenities such as high-end furniture, big-screen TVs and custom bars.
Adds Bowers, “Once fans step onto this platform, they generally never leave.”
The winner of the centerpiece race, the Sprint Cup race, was Carl Edwards of Roush Fenway Racing, who ended a drought of 70 races without a victory. The real winners, though, were the fans who packed the raceway and got to experience Classic’s commitment to excellence first hand.

Classic will again provide trackside amenities when NASCAR returns to the Phoenix International Raceway on November 10th for the AdvoCare 500.
