The new iPad 5 could be available as early as April this year, if rumours surrounding the tablet are to be believed. The iPad 4 was only released towards the end of 2012 but according to many reports, the 5th generation of the device could be on the shelves well before the summer.
There are plenty of reports suggesting April will be the release month, but even more optimistic tech fans have predicted that the tablet could be available as early as March.
Pictures of cases and other accessories – which appear to have been redesigned for the new iPad – have already been leaked and as well as rumours about the standard iPad 5, it is believed that the new generation iPad Mini could also be set for a spring unveiling.
If you’re a real Apple junkie you could stock up with a new iPad as well as the new iPhone 5S, which is due to be released in August of this year.
While it’s impossible to be completely accurate about what kind of features the new iPad will boast one thing is for sure – it will certainly have the Retina display for which other Apple devices have received plenty of praise.
The technology blog in the International Business Times speculated as to what the new device might look like. They believe it is likely the iPad 5 will have the same 9.7 inch display as previous models, but will be around 2mm thinner, making it almost as slimline as the iPad Mini.
Rene Ritchie at iMore, who is well known for accurately predicting launch dates and details of Apple products, is one of the tech bloggers who has speculated that April could see the arrival of the new iPad.
He wrote: “We've also been told an April-ish launch is getting serious consideration for the next-generation iPads, but we're really not sure what to make of that yet. iPad 5 casings have already begun to leak -- the only big redesign in the line -- so that could make sense.”
