Private Investigator give information about employee monitoring service in light of recent article in The Independent Newspaper by Matthew Cooper dated 14th March 2013: Crown Prosecution Service employees admit making £1m of bogus claims for witness taxi fares

This case went on for far too long and in my professional opinion employee monitoring would have nipped this in the bud. It is sad to think that these former trustworthy people have ruined their lives through greed

According to the Independent article two Crown Prosecution Service workers have admitted to making more than £1 million worth of bogus claims for taxi fares. The pair is expected to be given custodial sentences when they go back to court for sentencing on 4th July (case number T20137424). It is believed that the five year scam, in which the two workers abused their positions at Birmingham Crown Court by producing invoices for a fictitious taxi company, enabled Tahir Mahmood to pay off his £120,000 mortgage and Lisa Burrows to fund many trips to Dubai and buy designer clothing and jewellery.

The report goes on to say that both pleaded guilty to the offence and the pair were remanded in custody pending the preparation of pre-sentence reports. The CPS dismissed both workers on the first day they appeared in court and are making steps to recover the funds. The police were carrying out an investigation when they were acting on a compliant from the CPS.

Private Investigator respond to this interesting case by giving information about employee monitoring services they provide. Cases like this would be dealt with on several levels and may include an undercover agent introduced into the workforce to gain inside information about any suspected employee. Private Investigator has had great success with this type of investigation and have stopped many scams from continuing to the extent that the Mahmood / Burrows case.
