Our communities have faced an onslaught of challenges and hardships over issues due to substance abuse. And I believe that our children have the right to make informed positive choices and pursue their dreams.

Consumer Energy Solutions employees Lynn Posyton and Montana Spencer were personally invited to a very important summit where like-minded groups and individuals gathered to learn the truth about marijuana legalization and its impact on our country.
CES was an honored sponsor of the event and also presented the effective materials from The Foundation for a Drug-Free World to all who attended the two-day summit.
"We learned about the states which have legalized marijuana and which states were targeted to be next," said Lynn Posyton - Director Of Community Relations at CES.
The whole story and the facts and statistics showing the negative impact of legalization are available on their sites. Please visit their pages and get informed.
Community Alliances for Drug Free Youth, or CADFY, is a non-profit organization working in collaboration with other agencies and organizations to bring parents, youth, schools, and communities together to reduce substance abuse through the application of successful prevention strategies and programs.
“Our communities have faced an onslaught of challenges and hardships over issues due to substance abuse. And I believe that our children have the right to make informed positive choices and pursue their dreams. They have the right to grow up in a safe and drug-free community. And that is why I am so very proud of our partnership with the Foundation for a Drug-Free World,” said Mr. John Redman, Executive Director of CADFY.
On another front in our efforts to help youth have a bright future, CES hosts Community Learning Center's Teens Tutoring with Technology program training.
With a fantastic grant from BEST BUY, Community Learning Center offers 10 teens the opportunity to train to become tutors.
After 20 hrs of training, the teen tutors a child for 20 hours, teaching them how to read, or greatly improving their reading and math skills.
With the grant, each teen is paid $8.50/hour for 20 hours of tutoring.
CES is thrilled to include several children of our employees as both teen tutors, and as children receiving tutoring.
Lynn Posyton, Director of Community Relations, ensures that the program is fully functioning by working closely with Holly Haggerty, Executive Director of Community Learning Center. Enjoy the pictures of this incredible program which we are so happy to help with.
