Greenberg Traurig’s New York City office Elevates Three Attorneys

The New York City office of the international law firm, Greenberg Traurig LLP announced the elevation of three attorneys to of counsel, Marissa Banez, Litigation; Rachel Cohen-Deano, Corporate & Securities; and Stephanie Perron, Intellectual Property & Technology.

Marissa Banez specializes in products liability and toxic tort, which includes asbestos and tobacco litigation. In asbestos matters, she has represented from complaint through trial (many times as lead counsel) major manufacturers, contractors and distributors of asbestos-containing products in both personal injury and property damage cases in California, New York and New Jersey. She also has worked on tobacco matters for a major domestic tobacco manufacturer. Banez has been involved with pro bono matters, having successfully litigated an appeal with the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims and working with an organization that assists children with learning disabilities. She is a former vice-chair and counsel to the New York Asian Women’s Center.

Rachel Cohen-Deano focuses her practice on fund formation, including private equity and hedge funds, mergers and acquisitions and general corporate matters.

Stephanie Perron focuses her practice on transactional intellectual property and technology matters, including technology licensing and development, ecommerce, and intellectual property counseling in connection with mergers, acquisitions and financings. She also assists clients with IT and business process outsourcing arrangements and privacy and data security matters.
