Motoring groups in the UK have united a midst emerging reports that that Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne, is set to scrap the planned price increase on fuel duty - according to national news sources.
The UK Government is set to make a u-turn ahead of March’s budget and scrap plans to raise the price of fuel by a another 3 pence per litre from the autumn.
The Chancellor has already backed down on a fuel duty rise twice in recent months with the planned January and April hikes scrapped - and the latest report of a third back down is bound to give the Chancellor some short-lived respite from the mounting pressure of a nation struggling to fill up their tanks.
Car Loan 4U Co-Director, Ryan Dignan, comments:
“We’ve seen it happen twice already and now it looks to be a third time lucky for us all. I think it’s really encouraging to see that the Chancellor is listening to the millions of motorists and businesses that are affected by the continuous fuel duty rises in the UK.”

“So if the reports are true and George Osborne does scrap the planned autumn rise of three pence per litre, then it will no doubt allow millions of families and businesses to keep their costs down for just a little bit longer.”
