Those who struggle with missing, worn or decayed teeth have traditionally had to rely on dentures or other removable oral devices to restore their smile for not only aesthetic purposes, but also for health and digestion. However, even with dentures, patients can still experience trouble with jaw pain, poor digestion and other health conditions. New procedures introduced by Dr. Tracy Sulc at her Owings Mills, MD practice are helping patients get permanent, healthy smiles for better health.
With implant restorations, patients are provided with permanent, durable replacements for missing teeth that are implanted into the jawbone and essentially look and perform like a natural tooth. With dental implants, patients no longer have to worry about loose dentures, broken dentures, or dentures that don’t quite fit right.
“Dental implants have really revolutionized the way patients with missing or decayed teeth are able to live their daily lives,” said Dr. Tracy Sulc of Owings Mills, MD. “Patients who receive implants no longer have to worry about removing dentures for cleaning, what kind of bonding agent to use, how their dentures fit, and what food they can’t eat with the dentures. This procedure essentially restores every function of a natural tooth, but is even stronger and isn’t susceptible to decay.”
Dr. Sulc performs a dental implant procedure by inserting a small titanium stud into the jawbone. Once this stud has had time to fuse with the bone and heal, a porcelain tooth is then attached to the titanium anchor that is custom made to match the color and shape of the other patient’s teeth. Dental implants can be used to fill spaces of a single missing tooth, or can even be used for entire top and bottom arches, replacing removable dentures.
Patient reviews of Dr. Tracy Sulc’s dental implant procedures have been outstanding. They report a significant reduction in jaw pain, no hassle with cleanings or bonding, and being able to enjoy a much more well rounded diet without the worry of damaging their dentures.
