Officials of New Castle Hotels & Resorts, a leading hotel owner, operator and developer, announced the promotion of John Fields to Area General Manager of the Connecticut Region comprising the Hilton Garden Inn, Norwalk, Conn., the Hampton Inn and Hilton Garden Inn Shelton, Conn., where he also will have General Manager responsibilities. Simultaneously, Michael Marques was named Area Director of Sales and Marketing for both Hampton Inn and Hilton Garden Inn, Shelton Connecticut.
John is excited about his area general manager role as well as his new position as general manager of the Shelton hotel A veteran hotelier, Fields joined New Castle in 2011, bringing with him some 20 years of industry experience in the New York and New England areas. Earlier in his career, Fields earned certification as a Hampton and Hilton Garden Inn General Manager and served with Linchris Hotels, Island Hospitality, IHG and Cendant, among others. With his passion for the community, Fields is an active member of the Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Connecticut Convention and Sports Bureau serving each on the Government Affairs Committee.
Marques’s hospitality career started with Marriott International in Danbury, CT as part of a preopening hotel team and had continued for 14 years in various sales and marketing roles. Joining New Castle Hotels & Resorts in 2010, Marques led sales efforts in Westchester County, New York until his recent promotion where he has become a graduate of Connecticut’s Greater Valley Leadership Program.
