Coinable.com announces its 10 year anniversary in the custom coin industry. Whether challenge coins, tokens, doubloons or high quality custom coins, the company is excited to continue creating pieces to commemorate experiences of all kinds.

Headed by military veterans Jeffrey Rabenstein and Robert Blackburn, Coinable.com has been able to thrive through its dedication to creating each coin with pride, loyalty and respect.

“We have served and continue service for our troops and organizations that fight for our freedom today,” said Rabenstein. “These are veteran coins, made for veterans.”

Beyond its military roots, custom coins are great to give as an award or for other kinds of recognition. Many of the company’s popular coin projects include fundraisers, alumni key chains, poker card guards, wedding coins, lapel pins, anniversary coins and -- and its most popular offering – challenge coins.

The concept of challenge coins originated with World War I when an American lieutenant ordered medallions struck with solid bronze carrying the squadron emblem to be carried by every member of the squadron.

Later, after being captured behind enemy lines with no other identification, his would-be French executioners recognized the insignia on his medallion and – instead of shooting him – gave him a bottle of wine. Back at his squadron, it became a tradition for all members to carry their coin at all times. The tradition continued throughout the war and for many years after.

Today, challenge coins are used to commemorate anniversaries, milestones, camaraderie and even as business cards. Whether in the market for military coins, government agency coins or a coin to promote business, Coinable.com creates high quality coin designs like no others on the market.
