Today, nearly a thousand enterprise and service provider customers run their communications applications on Voxeo's SIP-powered platforms.

This year Voxeo celebrates 10 years of industry-leading support for the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), an IETF-defined signaling protocol widely used for Voice over IP (VoIP) communications. Over the past decade, Voxeo’s platform has reliably processed tens of billions of minutes and trillions of VoIP packets in support of inbound self-service applications and outbound communication-enabled business processes in its cloud hosting network.

Enterprise and service provider customers worldwide use Voxeo’s native SIP platform for completely programmable call control and routing, conferencing and VoIP telephony capabilities.

The Voxeo platform is built entirely on SIP from the ground up, offering SIP application delivery via the Call Control XML (CCXML) and VoiceXML standards. Voxeo built its cloud hosting network around SIP in 2001 and in 2003 opened access via SIP to developers and enterprises to build advanced communications applications that could bridge the traditional PSTN world with the next generation IP world.

Voxeo first participated in SIPIt 9 in San Diego in December 2001.

Beyond SIP, Voxeo continues its long history of pioneering the adoption of industry standards -- from its early adoption of SIP, VoiceXML and CCXML to new and emerging standards like WebRTC -- both in terms of product innovation and participation in industry councils and committees. Currently Voxeo chairs the VoiceXML and CCXML working groups and is co-editor of the W3C’s WebRTC specification.
