SAE International presents a free, one-hour webcast that explores the pros and cons of traditional versus on-target prototyping on a real ECU. “Bringing Advanced Control Systems to Market with On-Target Prototyping on Production-Intent ECUs” will take place Thursday, March 21, at noon (EDT).
Whether you are developing a hybrid control system, a complete engine management system, or simply a new control system feature or function, chances are you use traditional rapid prototyping techniques, such as bypass or fullpass, to test and validate your ideas. However, these techniques are often too complex, too expensive, and they don’t lend themselves well to a path-to-production on a final ECU.
Industry experts will offer practical examples. In addition, they will discuss how to:
- Rapidly enable development on a production engine with non-typical crank patterns
- Produce working control system prototypes in a very short time that allow small companies to showcase their technology to potential customers and investors
- Enable research in alternative fuels and power systems
