Tampa, Florida (PRWEB) March 19, 2013

Fifth grade students took action for children in developing nations and created a barefoot walk, “Walk in Their Shoes”, to show empathy for the 1.5 billion people worldwide who do not own a pair of shoes. They have invited the entire student body at Carrollwood Day School to walk with them. As part of Mrs. Macaluso’s 5th Grade Primary Years Program Exhibition research, students are heading up a shoe drive for orphans in Africa, culminating in this fantastic event. The walk will be held on March 21, 2013 from 2-3 p.m. at Carrollwood Day School in Tampa.

Due to kindergarten being at a different campus, Mrs. Macaluso’s class will also go to the Early Childhood Campus Wednesday, March 20th, to present a mini Exhibition and include them in another short barefoot walk.

So far, the students have collected more than 250 pairs of shoes.
