Residents of the Pinellas County now have another reason to smile. Dr. Ernest H. McDowell, of McDowell Orthodontics, is opening a Smile for a Lifetime (S4L) chapter in Pinellas County to provide braces at no cost to individuals ages 8-18 who cannot afford them.
S4L is a national non-profit with chapters across North America. Their mission is “to create self-confidence, inspire hope and change the lives of children through the gift of a smile!” The local S4L chapter will be awarding their first orthodontic scholarship (free braces) to Michael Beasley-Kanash, a student at Seminole Middle School on Friday, March 22nd, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. The award ceremony will be held at McDowell Orthodontics 8686 131st Street, Seminole, Florida 33776. McDowell Orthodontics will be awarding six to eight additional scholarships this year and are currently accepting applications.
