The New Zealand based natural health, skincare and household good health product provider, HealthPost focused its efforts in March to help support the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) of New Zealand. Being that March is the annual campaign month, HealthPost took the opportunity to show their support for Kiwis living with neuromuscular conditions. There are over sixty different types of neuromuscular conditions and they can first become apparent at any age.
Muscular Dystrophy is a genetic condition which results in muscle wastage and symptoms can occur shortly after birth or much later in life. There is no cure for Muscular Dystrophy and it is usually severely life altering. The Muscular Dystrophy Association provides support and information for individuals who are affected by this irreversible neuromuscular condition. MDA is a not for profit that is solely reliant on public donations for funding and has branches spreading throughout New Zealand. This organisation is dedicated to helping enhance the lives of those affected by Muscular Dystrophy.
HealthPost has focused efforts not only on improving individual health through providing a varied selection of natural health products, but also has established a donation programme. With every web order, HealthPost customers can choose a charity to donate one of HealthPost’s dollars to, and for the month of March HealthPost has committed to donate $2 to the Muscular Dystrophy Association every time it is selected as the preferred organisation to donate to. Customers aren’t charged any extra and all donations purely come from HealthPost’s revenue.
To date HealthPost has donated $129,650 to charities and causes including; New Zealand Red Cross, The Fred Hollows Foundation NZ, WWF-NZ, The Nelson ARK, Royal New Zealand SPCA and HealthPost Environmental Fund. The introduction of the Charity of the Month, such as MDA, enables HealthPost to reach out to important charities that may be less well-known. HealthPost wants to acknowledge the many unsung heroes that are doing important work in our communities and extend a helping hand. HealthPost welcomes recommendations for future charities of the month and encourages people to reach out to HealthPost with meaningful causes that could use support. Participation is currently limited to organisations which are registered as a charity in New Zealand.
HealthPost is dedicated to the ‘Live Well: Give Well’ philosophy. The standing idea is that individual wellness is directly connected to the health of the natural environment and broader community. HealthPost embraces its responsibility to give back and is proud to be able to help the community and New Zealand’s beautiful natural environment. From humanitarian to animal and environmental aid, HealthPost is honoured to be able to provide aid to such worthy organisations and causes.
