Almost everyone can relate to those moments of awkward silence, where keeping a conversation flowing is a struggle. Many people’s anxiety about starting a conversation, especially with a potential romantic interest, usually has to do with running out of things to say and entering the dreaded awkward silence.
Surprisingly, not only were the men successful in their endeavors to get phone numbers, but the students they approached seemingly found it quite amusing. The social experiment was conducted at University of California, Santa Barbara just in time for Spring Break.
The YouTube channel “whatever,” based on social experiments and pranks, has 30,000 subscribers and 1.5 million total video views since its launch in February 2013.
