Greenberg Traurig’s Daniel H. Black Named Entertainment Lawyer of the Year by Century City Bar Association.

The international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP announced that Daniel H. Black has been selected as ‘Entertainment Lawyer of the Year’ by the prestigious Century City Bar Association. Serving as the co-chair of Greenberg Traurig’s West Coast Entertainment and Media Practice, Black accepted the award during the CCBA’s 45th Annual Installation Banquet and Awards Ceremony.

The Century City Bar Association’s annual “Lawyer of the Year” Awards honor Century City attorneys who have recently achieved stand-out performance in their areas of specialty, while also demonstrating commitments to charitable work and public service. This year’s five honorees were chosen by a panel of their peers.

“Dan is recognized as a media and entertainment industry leader, and he has greatly helped expand our presence in the television and motion picture industries and digital space,” said Jay Cooper, Vice-Chair, Global Media and Entertainment Practice and Co-Chair, West Coast Entertainment Division for Greenberg Traurig. “We are very proud to have the Century City Bar Association recognize his achievements.”

Black has extensive experience in the television, motion picture and digital media arenas, having practiced law both in the major studio and law firm settings. He is one of a small group of attorneys equally comfortable in the traditional and new media areas, whether representing corporate entities or individuals. He has served as lead counsel on numerous transactions with the major motion picture studios and television networks, in addition to major internet content producing, licensing and advertising entities. His clients include production and distribution, internet and videogame companies as well as advertising agencies, showrunners and producers, and on-air television and sports personalities. Black also possesses substantial experience in representing internationally based clients in their entertainment.
