Pinnacle 3 Learning, a project management training provider specializing in PMP® Certification and Lean Six Sigma certification training has announced that Project Management Training was recently listed by AOL as a “Key Skill to Get Hired” in an article on AOL Jobs (jobs.aol.com).

The article ranks Project Management training and experience as the most desirable occupational skill for prospective employees to possess and specifically cites PMP® Certification as a distinct competitive advantage. PMI reports that historical data shows that certified candidates “earn approximately 16 percent more than those without the certification.” The notion that a project manager with PMP® Certification is a hot commodity is also supported by Mark Kwandrans, PMP, “To be considered for job openings, you must get the experience that will qualify you for the certification or credential. Before I was certified, I had trouble finding work and was unemployed for a bit. Since getting certified, I have had no problem staying employed.”

By earning a PMP® certification, individuals will also prove to their current and potential employers that they are committed to excellence and are more than able to perform at the most crucial level in the area of project management. Getting certified increases the chance that a person will earn higher pay in their current position and has increased opportunities for professional advancement. According to the PMI® Project Management Salary Survey, “certified Project Management Professionals earn an average salary of more than $100,000 per year!”

“Certification is a preferred requirement in a broad range of career fields,” stated Kim Endiape, Pinnacle 3 Learning Representative. “CPA for accounting, CISSP for information security, PMP for project management. Recruiters can sometimes filter out resumes if you don’t have those desired credentials.”

Additionally, the AOL Jobs article mentions that according to the Project Management Institute (PMI), “The Project Management Institute recently released a forecast predicting that between 2010 and 2020, there will be 15.7 million project-management positions created globally.” Furthermore, it is estimated that in the United States alone, 6.2 million new jobs will be created in various Project Management fields over the next decade.
