It has been reported by the BBC that four hundred joggers descended upon Salford, Greater Manchester on Thursday 21st March wearing special suits adorned with LED lights ready to run round the city as part of an event arranged by public arts charity NVA. The display used cutting edge technology which effectively transformed runners into human fireflies, using a series of LEDs attached to the arms, legs and heads of the runners who went past the Lowry, the Imperial War Museum North and the new Media City complex.
Simple Lighting Company has been heavily involved within the LED industry for a number of years. Specialising in a wide collection of LED strip lighting and tape lighting, the business caters for both indoor and outdoor lighting. More than aware of the diverse functionality of LEDs, a representative from the firm shares their interest in the recent performance.
“The photos taken from the event are really quite spectacular. This sort of effect simply would not be achievable with regular bulbs. LEDs are increasingly being used for wider purposes than simply general illumination thanks to the size, strength, coolness and quality of light emitted.
“We’re looking forward to the following Speed of Light performances which take place until Suundat evening.”
