Dinner and a movie isn’t a new thing, but when one of our chefs creates exquisite cuisine inspired by Chef Julia Child and the guests in our restaurant are able to appreciate a film honoring her legacy to culinary arts, we have created something special.
Memphis, TN (PRWEB) March 22, 2013
The Presentation Room at L’Ecole Culinaire, 1245 North Germantown Parkway in Cordova, TN, is hosting a special wine dinner and a movie on Wednesday, March 27 at 7:00 p.m. accompanied by an award-winning feature film
For the price of $75 guests are treated to the movie “Julie and Julia”– a film starring Meryl Streep and Amy Adams that emphasizes the ups and downs of a blogger, cooking her way through famous television chef Julia Child’s cookbook, “Mastering the Art of French Cooking”. While enjoying this popular food-themed movie, guests will be served a selection of dishes that were inspired by the film and Chef Julia Child.
Appetizers include artichokes with hollandaise sauce, followed by a classic French onion soup. The third course will be a casserole of roasted chicken with bacon, onions, and potatoes. Immediately following will be a recreation of one of Chef Child's most famous signature dishes, “Beef Bourguinon” – beef stew, braised with red wine, bacon, onions, and mushrooms, served with new potatoes and carrots. A macaroon custard cup served with a chocolate sauce tops off the evening for dessert. A selection of carefully chosen wines is paired with each dish to compliment all of the robust flavors.
“Dinner and a movie isn’t a new thing,” says Chef Tiera Aguillion, L’Ecole Culinaire Memphis. “But when one of our chefs creates exquisite cuisine inspired by Chef Julia Child and the guests in our restaurant are able to appreciate a film honoring her legacy to culinary arts, we have created something special.”
The Presentation Room Restaurant is the final phase of the L’Ecole Culinaire culinary degree program. The Restaurant closes as the conclusion of each phase to allow the next students to transition and create new menus. Student chefs use the skills taught at L’Ecole Culinaire to run the restaurant as practical hands-on experience before entering the workplace.
