We’re seeing a lot more people coming into our studio who are having issues with their hair due to medical and immune conditions, and this is a fairly new type of customer.

Dallas, TX (PRWEB) March 21, 2013

Dallas-based business Wild4Wigs is serious about helping medical patients maintain a normal life when their condition or medications cause thinning hair or baldness. To assist these medical patients, owner Carol Clifton-DeMott said Wild4Wigs offers a private experience to meet and discuss wig options. “We are very sensitive to the fact that hair is a big part of a woman’s appearance, and we are very discreet and understanding in helping these women get fitted for a wig that will help them in their normal, daily lives,” she said.

According to Clifton-DeMott, “We’re seeing a lot more people coming into our studio who are having issues with their hair due to medical and immune conditions, and this is a fairly new type of customer. For instance, people with diabetes, arthritis, thyroid and celiac disease are finding out that some of the side effects of their medicines are causing hair loss and baldness.” Other illnesses that cause hair loss include alopecia or hormone imbalances, she said.

Wild4Wigs, which was featured on Good Morning, Texas in last month, offers one full hour of free consultation to all its clients when choosing a wig. Clifton-DeMott said the wigs and hair design studio personnel work in-depth with customers to find out not only what style and color they may want, but also what lifestyle they live. That way, the wig choice will be in keeping with active women who may be out in the wind or participating in sporting events, or with those whose lives are more sedate and less active.

Other clients that can benefit from a wig are those whose hair is fragile, or that has been damaged by lots of bleaches or dyes. “Some women are allergic to hair products,” Clifton-DeMott said, “while others simply don’t want to put all those harsh chemicals on their hair. Not only is it damaging if done too often, but also it is costly in time and money. Purchasing a frosted wig is one way to make sure it lasts a long time.”

Wild4Wigs is located at 1504 Addison Rd, Ste B in Addison. Clifton-DeMott has been in the hair industry for more than 15 years. Her studio boasts private rooms for cuts and styles. Plus, they can cut and style your wig, refurbish it or shampoo and set it. Additionally, Wild4Wigs offers the latest in hair extension consultation and styling, featuring lengths of 16” to 20”. Tape-in extensions can be attached for a short term or as semi-permanent, as desired. They also offer clip-in extensions that can be cut and styled.
