Prima Ristorante, an Italian restaurant in Walnut Creek that also offers catering services, is hosting its 18th Annual Zinfandel Winemaker Dinner on March 21.

Prima Ristorante, Walnut Creek's premier Italian restaurant and wine shop, is hosting a wine pairing dinner that is featuring six outstanding zinfandel producers from throughout California. The March 21 celebration will include a reception and dinner. Seating is limited and tickets are $88 per diner, plus tax and gratuity.

Wine makers and proprietors from Neal Family Vineyards, Gamba and Frank Family, as well as Hartford, Bella Vineyards and Dogwood Cellars, will pour their latest releases and join the guests for a paired, private dining experience created by Prima's executive chef and owner, Peter Chastain, and chef de cuisine, Maggie Pond.

"Zinfandel is fast becoming one of the most popular wines on the market," wine director John Rittmaster said. "We couldn't think of a better way to marry our regional Italian cuisine with these powerful wines than by serving Italian-style barbecue!"

Guests will enjoy roasted sweet peppers with asiago and fennel-salami, cappelletti filled with braised rabbit, and pork ribs simmered in tomatoes and peppers. Alongside the meal, guests will drink six different zinfandels, and have the opportunity to meet and mingle with the winemakers.

For this event, a reservation is required. Please RSVP to 925-935-7780.
