Kay LiCausi, President and CEO of New Jersey-based government relations and business development firm Hoboken Strategy Group will be a featured panelist at “Running and Winning”, a day-long workshop sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Mountain Lakes being held on Friday, March 22 at Mountain Lakes High School.

    “Running and Winning” will provide 60 young women from Mountain Lakes, Boonton Township and Paterson in grades 10-12 with an opportunity to engage with women in the political arena including elected officials, campaign staff and political operatives. The workshop’s keynote speaker will be New Jersey State Senator Linda Greenstein (D-14) and will also feature a bipartisan group of female elected officials including Senator Nellie Pou (D-35), Assemblywoman Shavonda Sumter (D-35), Assemblywoman Nancy Munoz (R-21), Assemblywoman BettyLou DeCroc The morning e (R-26), Morris County Freeholder Ann Grossi (R), Morris County Clerk Joan Bramhall (R), Boonton Township Mayor Michele Rankin (R), Clinton Mayor Janice Kovach (D) and Butler Town Councilwoman Judy Woop (D).

    “I am honored and excited to participate in this program whose goal is to inspire young women toward public service and leadership,” said LiCausi, “I applaud the League of Women Voters of Mountain Lakes for putting together such a stellar group of women for an event that will help to shape the future of these students.”

    The workshop will be divided into two sessions- morning and afternoon. The morning session will provide the participants with a one-on-one opportunity to interact with public officials to discuss their experiences as candidates and in serving as elected officials. Following lunch, the participants will work with a League facilitator and political mentor to conduct mock political campaigns with each participant taking on a different role including candidate, speechwriter, campaign manager and publicist. At the conclusion of the event, each participant will be presented with a certificate recognizing their participation in the day’s event.
