The State broadband directory, ARIN and Public Knowledge are important resources to fixed Wireless Internet Service Providers
Mt. Vernon, IL (PRWEB) March 22, 2013
WISPAmerica, an annual conference and tradeshow dedicated to the Wireless Internet Service Provider industry, today announced that Anne Neville, State Broadband Director at NTIA, John Curran, President and CEO of the American Registry for Internet Numbers (ARIN) and Harold Feld, Senior Vice President of Public Knowledge, will be featured luncheon keynote speakers at the conference. The conference will be held from Monday, April 1 – 5, 2013 at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center in Covington, Kentucky.
The National Telecommunications and Information Association (NTIA) is a federal agency that is principally responsible for advising the President on telecommunications and information policy issues. As authorized by Congress, the NTIA works with the States to map broadband availability across the United States.
ARIN is one of five global Regional Internet Registries (RIR) that provides services related to the technical coordination and management of Internet number resources in its respective service region. The ARIN service region includes Canada, many Caribbean and North Atlantic islands, and the United States. ARIN facilitates the development of policy decisions made by its members and the stakeholders in its region. The conversion to IPv6 makes Mr. Curran’s keynote address a timely topic of interest.
Public Knowledge is a Washington, D.C-based think tank that seeks to preserve the openness of the Internet and the public's access to knowledge. Public Knowledge is a tireless promoter of unlicensed spectrum, and Mr. Feld has become an important ally of WISPA through his thoughtful advocacy and widely-read blogs and thought pieces.
“The State broadband directory, ARIN and Public Knowledge are important resources to fixed Wireless Internet Service Providers,” said Richard Harnish, Executive Director of WISPA. “We’re pleased to have Ms. Neville, Mr. Curran and Mr. Feld speak to our members about recent and important initiatives affecting our industry.”
