"The Intarya team is very happy to have had the opportunity to work on this project. It is a departure from our more traditional aesthetic and it gave us the ability to showcase our versatility" says Daniel.

Renowned international interior design firm Intarya, helmed by Brazilian designer Daniel Kostiuc, concluded the installation of a 2,750 square foot, 3 bedroom duplex apartment at the prestigious residential development The Lancasters, overlooking Hyde Park in London in March 2013.

The landmark development was originally an elegant parade of 15 magnificent stucco-fronted Grade II listed houses dating from the mid nineteenth century. Restoration by London's leading team of developers, architects and interior designers has created a unique fusion of traditional architecture with brand new design and construction.

The majority of the 77 homes face south with views onto, or across Hyde Park. Each home has been designed around the grandeur of the original architecture and interior features of the building, such as high ceilings, ornate cornicing and fireplaces.

Intarya is a well-established interior design studio based in London, engaged in the creation and execution of high end residential projects in worldwide locations. Intarya is dedicated to providing the highest quality of workmanship, executing its projects with an unstinting attention to detail.

In this latest project, a 1970's aesthetic was subtly injected into the apartment's period architecture. As you enter, your eye is directed to an over-scaled abstract piece of art, reaching nearly 3 metres in length, against a backdrop of luxurious textured teal silk walling.

The imposing double-height Drawing Room boasts many bespoke items, including a large gold-plated, 1970's-inspired chandelier, an arch-backed mid-century-inspired sofa and a large lacquered media cabinet with hammered brass handles. Over the traditional marble fireplace is an avant-garde collection of plates in eye-catching colours.

The Dining area houses a colossal painting, a dining table with a beaten metal base and grey velvet and brass dining chairs. Vintage glamour is introduced by a central chandelier, a rhythmic composition of tubular elements.

"The Intarya team is very happy to have had the opportunity to work on this project. It is a departure from our more traditional aesthetic and it gave us the ability to showcase our versatility" says Daniel.

Intarya is a wholly owned subsidiary and works hand in hand with Northacre on their schemes, however 90% of the project portfolio is undertaken for private clients and a select number of other developers.

As its managing director and lead designer, Daniel Kostiuc heads a team of 12 interior designers and architects. Daniel studied interior architecture at UCLA and has worked on five-star resorts, boutique hotels and private homes worldwide.
