ParStream, a leading real-time big data analytics technology provider, today announced the appointment of (in order of last name) Don Haderle, Volker Markl, Marie-Anne Neimat, and Andy Palmer to the company’s Technology Advisory Board.
Widely recognized as the “Father of DB2,” Don Haderle led the design and architecture of IBM’s Database 2 (DB2). In addition, Haderle has pioneered several technology initiatives for relational databases and information technology on open systems, federated information infrastructure, content management, and spatial systems, among others.
Volker Markl has a doctorate in Computer Science and is a leading expert in the area of adaptive query processing and optimization. He holds six patents and his work has influenced many database products. After several years at IBM's Almaden Research Center, Markl currently conducts groundbreaking research in large-scale database technologies as full professor and chair of the Database Systems and Information Management (DIMA) group at Technische Universität Berlin (TU Berlin).
Marie-Anne Neimat has a doctorate in Computer Science and most recently served as VP of Development at Oracle for Oracle NoSQL Database, Oracle Berkeley Database, and Oracle TimesTen In-Memory Database. Prior to Oracle, Neimat was VP of Engineering, and board member at TimesTen Inc., a company she co-founded while at HP Labs, which was eventually acquired by Oracle.
Andy Palmer was co-founder and founding CEO of Vertica Systems (acquired by HP), a pioneering Big Data analytics company. He has worked with more than 25 technology companies in a funding, advisory, or founding capacity. Prior to Vertica, Palmer held executive positions at Infinity Pharmaceuticals, Bowstreet (acquired by IBM), pcOrder.com and Trilogy.
