It has been reported in HVP that the company have experienced a year on year increase in sales of their work wear range as electricians and plumbers take more care in their appearance. According to research by Plumbfix, retaining a professional image has become a priority for 87%of electricians as the tough economic climate forces people to set themselves apart from their competitors. It was also revealed that one in four plumbing and heating engineers have become more conscious of their physical appearance than they were 12 months ago, with 60% citing the economic as the main reason behind their efforts.
However, with temperatures this year already well below average alongside snowy and icy conditions, the increase in sales could also be partly attributed to a higher demand in the industry. On average a cold spring increases the amount of call-outs by approximately 40%.
