15% of those surveyed claimed that the conflicting and confusing information presented to them put them off their sale
(PRWEB UK) 27 March 2013
It has been reported by E Consultancy that data compiled by website conversion experts, Whisbi, demonstrated that 43% of respondents have abandoned online baskets in the past year alone. 44% of these claimed a lack of customer interaction was the leading cause behind the action. 15% of those surveyed claimed that the conflicting and confusing information presented to them put them off their sale, whilst 59% of participants believe that having contact with a sales assistant would make the purchasing process easier.
A concerning 34% stated that the lack of support has deterred them from online shopping altogether. With such a large percentage of UK businesses now operating online, this is a worrying statistic. Managing Director at SEO Positive, Ben Austin, explains the importance of making a website customer friendly.
“As SEO specialists, our first concern is of pushing our clients’ sites to the first page of Google. However, it is just as important to make sure your site impresses your human visitors as well as the search engines. With recent algorithm updates adjusting ranking signals, the work we carry out to ensure your site ranks well also helps to improve user experience.
“High quality, informative content, easy to navigate sites, fast loading speeds and clear layouts all help to improve your conversions whilst also proving to be preferable to the search engines.”
