Nearing the close of Loyola University New Orleans’ centennial celebration, there is a lot to look forward to for students, alumni, faculty and friends of the university. Veteran “NBC Nightly News” anchor Tom Brokaw will address the graduating classes of 2013. Brokaw will receive an honorary degree during the commencement along with legendary jazz vocalist Germaine Bazzle and Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Dean Baquet, the managing editor of The New York Times.
The 2013 Spring Commencement Ceremony will also celebrate the conferment of the 800th online graduate degree since 2006. The graduate to receive the landmark degree is expected to come from the online Master of Science in Criminal Justice Administration program, which accepted its first student in 2009.

- BLEND Program (RN-MSN Bridge)

o Specialization in Justice Administration
- Doctor of Nurse Practice (Louisiana’s first DNP)
- Master of Pastoral Studies
- Master of Religious Education
Loyola is an innovator and pioneer in adult education. The university started offering distance education 16 years ago in 1997, and was among the first to offer a fully online Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program in 2006. The MSN was among the first graduate programs available in a fully online format that did not require a residency.
