Visit the Okuma booth for customized CNC control demonstrations and attend the panel discussion to hear Okuma’s Director of Technology Brian Sides discuss the latest technology for connecting CNC machine systems on the shop floor and to front offices.

Okuma’s Director of Technology, Brian Sides, will participate in a panel discussion, “MTConnect Sensors: Anywhere and Everywhere”, presenting real-world solutions that enable machine shops to achieve greater productivity by incorporating MTConnect protocols via Okuma’s THINC®-OSP CNC controls.

[MC]2 2013 brings suppliers together to demonstrate MTConnect-based technologies and to educate manufacturers on how the standard can be applied to both newer controls such as the Okuma THINC® -OSP CNC control.

Okuma America Corporation, a world leader in CNC machine tools and CNC controls, will be a leading sponsor and exhibitor at the upcoming MTConnect [MC]2 conference on April 10-11, 2013 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Okuma’s Director of Technology, Brian Sides, will participate in a panel discussion, “MTConnect Sensors: Anywhere and Everywhere”, presenting real-world solutions that enable machine shops to achieve greater productivity by incorporating MTConnect protocols via Okuma’s THINC®-OSP CNC controls.

MTConnect is a software protocol standard that allows CNC machine tools, peripheral equipment (such as sensors and barfeeders), and software applications (such as production monitoring software) to speak to each other in a common language, simplifying integration to save time and help users become more productive.

The Okuma THINC®-OSP control is an open architecture, Windows®-based CNC control, which means that an Okuma CNC machine tool with the THINC® CNC control is easily configured for plug-and-play interconnectivity between devices, equipment and systems on the shop floor and front office. This open architecture configuration also means that Okuma CNC machine tools are MTConnect-ready.

[MC]2 2013 brings suppliers together to demonstrate MTConnect-based technologies and to educate manufacturers on how the standard can be applied to both newer controls such as the Okuma THINC® -OSP CNC control and even “legacy” CNC controls, with vendors of “black box” solutions also demonstrating product. [MC]2 2011 featured 175 attendees and 24 exhibitors. This attendance and participation reflects the magnitude of MTConnect’s impact on today’s manufacturing practices.

Those interested in how MTConnect and THINC-OSP controls can be used to improve productivity are invited to visit Okuma at the conference in April.
